Advertising to Find Investment Deals
Looking for good deals is half the battle for those who want to make steady profits from real estate, and by investing the time and energy in canvassing for bargains, you can improve your chances of success tremendously. Here are a few ways to mine for golden deals that you may not have thought of.
Advertise in local newspapers and shopping publications, mentioning that you are interested in land, houses, and foreclosures. Banks often have properties in their inventories, that have been repossessed from those who stopped making mortgage payments. Ask them to keep you informed of these so-called “REO” properties. Talk to local realtors, banks, and mortgage companies, and let them know that you’re interested in finding investment property. Have them add you to their mailing lists and keep you updated when listing come on the market.
Some aggressive investors put up billboards with their phone number on them, and advertise with slogans like “I buy foreclosures” or “I buy houses nobody else wants”. Although it seems outrageous to promote yourself with “We buy ugly houses”, one real estate investor became a millionaire by using that exact tactic to attract people had deals to share.
